Ilayaraja - The effervescent man loved by one and all by the music community. His very name sounds like a sweet raga, he is indeed the "Raja of the Ragas". Since this being my first blog i would like start off about this man who is so close to my heart, even though i knew nothing about classical music, i enjoy listening to his music, which is his greatest strength making a common man enjoy music.
He composed classicals which mesmerized our hearts and still lingers in our soul. Name anything from melodies, fast numbers, melancholy he has composed it all. He is a genius and once in a lifetime musician. Everybody in film fraternity has spoke and written about him, i love all his songs and his husky voice. I would like to quote a few lines from the song "Madai thirandhu" from the movie "Nizhalgal", which sums up what he really is...
